Meat Ninja is the identity Meat Boy takes in the future as seen in Super Meat Boy and Super Meat Boy Forever. He is an unlockable character in both games and the boyfriend of Bandage Ripper.

General information

Appearance

Meat Ninja looks similar to Meat Boy in both games: A cube-shaped skinned human with stubby legs and arms with four fingers. All other features differ between games.

In Super Meat Boy, Meat Ninja wears a black eye patch, cape, and suit, looking partially like an archetypical ninja.

In Super Meat Boy Forever, Meat Ninja has grey facial hair and bushy eyebrows. He is covered in scars and has wrinkles. His beard is bound near the tip by a blue hair tie.

Personality

As an older version of Meat Boy, Meat Ninja is more stern and serious compared to his form in the present. He's still able to let loose and have fun, however, such as in his race against Brownie.

Powers and Abilities

Meat Ninja possesses most abilities Meat Boy does, as well as a few others.

• Immortality: Meat Ninja will quickly respawn at a nearby point upon death.
• Acrobatics: Meat Ninja can run very fast, jump far, and perform wall jumps in quick succession.
• Slipperiness: Meat Ninja can slide up walls with ease using his blood as a lubricant.
• Teleportation: Meat Ninja can disappear and reappear, going through obstacles with a puff of black smoke.
• Advanced strength and combat skills: In Super Meat Boy Forever, Meat Ninja likely has more experience, strength, and combat prowess than Meat Boy, being able to fight a god and being able to hold up a huge piece of bismuth as it tries to crush him and Bandage Ripper.
• Resilience: As of Super Meat Boy Forever, Meat Ninja is more durable against certain hazards, such as needles, glass, and acid.

Weaknesses

• Sensitive body: Having no skin, Meat Ninja is extremely sensitive to certain hazards that would otherwise be harmless, like salt.

Gameplay

Leaderboards are disabled when playing as Meat Ninja.

Movement

Compared to Meat Boy, Meat Ninja moves identically, except for the fact that he always runs when moving, even when the run button isn't pressed.

Ability

When pressing the run button near an obstacle, Meat Ninja will disappear and reappear within half a second. During the invisibility, he is immune to all hazards, and can phase through them.

How to unlock

To unlock Meat Ninja, the player must achieve 106% completion. This includes getting an A+ rank on all levels, collecting all 100 bandages, completing every chapter, and completing every glitch level.

Super Meat Boy Forever

Visuals

Meat Ninja has similar animations to Meat Boy.

How to unlock

To unlock Meat Ninja, the player must defeat Dr. Fetus in Burly Brawl. Both him and Bandage Ripper will be unlocked immediately after completing the chapter and returning to the map.

Bugs

• If you dash through an Oob, they will freeze and not follow you.

Trivia

• Meat Ninja was originally going to be a zombie vampire from the future.
• If you A+ a level of any world, there's a very rare chance this might happen: At first the game looks like it freezes, but suddenly, a portrait of Meat Ninja appears on the screen, and above him, it will either says "In the year 20XX...", "I am, and will always be...", "Look to la luna", "I smell wet fur" or "Meat me at 100" . The music known as "???" also plays. This may scare many players. These lines are a reference to, in order, Mega Man, Star Trek, Mortal Kombat, Spelunky, and the way you unlock him, by getting 100%.

• Meat Ninja is based on Meat Boy's original design, but the design was eventually scrapped due to similarities to The Ninja from N.
• He can kill Burnt boys by using his dash over them.
